Krambach Hall Hire

The old School of Arts on the Bucketts Way: home of the monthly markets, and yours to hire.

Krambach Hall (the old School of Arts) is the village's community hall. It's home to the monthly Farmers Markets and available to hire for local functions, celebrations and meetings.

A hundred years of the hall

Krambach has had a public hall since at least 1898. In the early 1920s locals formed a School of Arts, part of the movement that built halls for learning and community life in small towns right across New South Wales. The committee accepted a £700 tender from builders Maybury and Munro, and the Krambach School of Arts opened on 13 May 1921.

After the Second World War a Soldiers' Memorial Committee ran dances and balls to raise money for a memorial building fund. Plans for a “Memorial Supper Room” were announced in 1951, by 1953 the papers were calling it the Krambach Memorial Hall, and additions to the supper room and alterations to the front of the hall followed in 1955.

In November 2017 a storm tore part of the roof off. The SES waterproofed the inside and that month's market was cancelled, but the kitchen and dining room stayed dry. The hall is still run by Krambach School of Arts Inc., a not-for-profit, volunteer committee.
